Linda Staines is the owner of Runners Roost in Colorado Springs. Linda’s running background is founded mainly in the sprinting events. She owns personal best times of 50.98 (400) and 2:01.82 (800) and has been part of many successful relay teams during her running career. Linda won the gold medal for 400 meters at the 1988 UK National Championship, where she also earned a selection to the British Olympic team. She then repeated as the UK National 400 Champion in 1989. Linda reached her peak in 1991 at the World Championship in Tokyo, where she reached the semi-finals as she ran a lifetime best of 50.98. She then went on to run a 49.7 split, in anchoring the British relay team to fourth place. The quartet of Lorraine Hanson, Phylis Smith, Sally Gunnell and Keough set a UK record of 3:22.01, that would stand for sixteen years. Linda has received medals from meets around the world; including the World Outdoor Championship, Commonwealth Games (gold & silver), IAAF World Cup and the European Championship (bronze).

As a life long runner, Linda surfaced again in 2005 and 2006, when she ran a UK masters record (age 40+) in the 400 meters with 54.81 and then she went on to run 2:06.86 for 800 meters–both records (as of 2014) still stand. As a sprinter, looking for a challenge, she ran a 3:15.03 marathon. Linda uses her passion for running and intelligence about the running gait to fit customers to the perfect shoe for their needs.
